General Dentistry

We provide a wide range of high quality general dental treatment for the whole family; preventative, restorative and aesthetic. Our treatments range from routine check ups, hygienist treatments, fillings and crownwork to root canal treatments. We also carry out teeth whitening and facial line smoothing treatments (Botox).

Our longstanding relationships with other local dental specialists, such as orthodontists and endodontists, ensure that you receive quality treatment, whether that be here at Cobham Dental or at one of our highly recommended referral surgeries.

New Patient & Routine Examinations

We pride ourselves on taking time to listen fully, explain thoroughly and treat conscientiously. We allocate between 20 - 45 minutes and all examinations consists of:

Full dental health check up
Mouth cancer screening
Oral hygiene advice
Any necessary radiographs
Treatment plan & estimate if required

Hygienist Treatment

Our experienced hygienists have been handpicked as they deliver gentle, skilled and patient focused treatment. The professional treatment they provide leaves you with a fresher, smoother and brighter smile as well as being a vital part of your long term oral health plan. This treatment, alongside some new tools and techniques, can help reduce the chance of health related problems such as gum disease. Our hygienists allocate 30 minutes for each appointment.

Hygienist Self-Referral (Direct Access)

It is now possible to see a dental hygienist privately, without first seeing a dentist for an examination, this is called Direct Access. Our hygienists welcome patients who would like this service.

If you would like to be seen under Direct Access, please explain to our receptionist on making your appointment. It is a requirement for a medical history form to be completed prior to seeing our hygienist and in some certain circumstance complicated medical histories will prohibit treatment.

Our hygienists are not responsible or qualified to carry out a full dental examination or diagnose beyond the scope of their practice. They have an ethical responsibility to recommend an appointment with a dentist should they see anything they feel requires attention, on these occasions they will advise you of this.

Facial Line Smoothing Clinic

We provide a very discreet and extremely successful facial rejuvenation & line smoothing clinic. For some of us, wrinkles and lines appear with age and living a full life. For many people, these lines and creases can appear before we are ready for them! We can help to reduce the number of frown lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. We help patients smile more and frown less!

Bruxism – Teeth Clenching or Grinding

If you do, the reason could be Bruxism. This affects over 80% of the population at some stage in their life and can be debilitating for many sufferers. It involves some of your most powerful muscles, studies have shown that during sleep, patients can exert 20% more pressure than is possible whilst awake. However, despite being prevalent throughout the UK and worryingly on the rise, bruxism often remains overlooked and under diagnosed. Whilst, for some, bruxing doesn’t cause any serious symptoms, for many – the habitual bruxers - the side effects are painful and persistent.

SCi - Sleep Clench Inhibitor is the most clinically effective FDA-approved treatment for TMD, bruxism, and medically diagnosed migraines.

Compared to a traditional guard, the SCi is a small tailor made dental splint that is much less invasive than a full arch device. Worn at night, the splint sits between your front teeth, preventing the back teeth from making contact. In doing so, clench intensity is minimised and grinding becomes almost impossible. By inhibiting the unwanted muscle activity, the tension that causes migraines, headaches, and jaw and neck pain is greatly reduced.
